beans, lettuce, lentils, barley and more vegetables. They planted
crops by the Nile river, like that the crops could grow.

like that they could grow crops  .
The Nile river was like a  life-giving river. It flooded all over the

Gods & Religions
The Egyptians had more than all the Gods you can think of, like for example,
Nut was the goddess of the sky. Nut is sometimes blue and covered with stars.
and she spit it out at sunrise. She swallowed the sun at night.
She had giant wings on her. Beautiful colors,
orange blue green and lots of other colors. And what about the Gods?
Well a God named Bes, he was the god who protected the children from evil
spirits. He enjoyed dancing and singing. He was a little short, fat, he was
a jolly God. The Egyptians believed that after mummification, the body would
go into another world ( The afterlife). The people who did not have enough
money to afford a pyramid built tombs. But the pharaohs built pyramids. In-
side the pyramids they put food, and cloth for the next world.

Did any of you people out there know what the Egyptians invented? Well they
invented calendars! (Not like the ones used today) It was a 365-day and 12
month calendar. 30 days in each month and 10 days in a week. All of the rest
5  days there was a feast. They also invented the writing! (Not at all like
ours!) They were like drawing writing! It is called hieroglyphs.
Like for example letter "A" was wrote as a bird! The Egyptians had to
have some thing to write on, didn't they? So they invented the papyrus
( pa-pur-us)! They used it as paper. First to make it they gathered reeds
then cut the outside bark then cut the reeds into strips after that soak
the reeds in water, last they pounded wet strips into paper. Then they could  write the drawing writing on the papyrus!
